Aluminium processing is a highly energy-intensive process that pushes us to continuously explore new solutions to improve efficiency and use energy resources more rationally.

The need to ensure genuine and lasting environmental and economic sustainability has given rise to the collaboration with Alperia, a leading company in the production of renewable energy, which took care of the installation of two photovoltaic plants at our factories in Andalo Valtellino and Delebio. Thanks to the large surface area available and the favourable sun exposure, these plants generate over 2.5 million kWh per year, covering part of our energy consumption with clean, renewable energy and reducing CO2 emissions by around 1,000 tons per year.

‘Our aim is to rationalise the company’s energy demand/consumption by favouring renewable sources,’ explains Mr Nicolò Farina, Energy Manager of Carcano Antonio S.p.A, in the interview with Alperia, where we retrace the main steps that have led us to this important milestone.
